Every year, the St. Petersburg Elks Lodge # 1224 presents an Assistant State Attorney with a Prosecutor of the Year Award. This tradition began in 1990, when then Chief Assistant State Attorney Bernie McCabe was presented the award.
Elizabeth received the award for her tireless efforts to assist law enforcement after hours during the 2020 pandemic.
Elizabeth Traverso came to the office in 2015 after previously having worked for the State Attorney’s Office in the 12th Circuit. Since joining our office, Elizabeth has been a felony line attorney and has had trials regarding violent felonies and career criminals.
Recently, Elizabeth was promoted to be a member of a specialized Gang Unit which works closely with law enforcement personnel.
